"Rosie" is an amazing and fun horse to ride. She is proficient in the show ring but truly shines when out on the farm or on trails.
She LOVES to work the cows, and even to barrel race and run poles. She is like driving a powerful, fast and incredibly nimble sports car. Power, responsive, a true adrenalin rush. If we had the opportunity, she would make an awesome polo pony. Some people have asked why she works cows in draw reins. The simple answer is that she likes the draw reins. She has more freedom of movement to turn, less pull on her mouth by a less than perfect rider. Bear in mind this is a working horse - not "working western" or "reining" in a ring but a horse with a job out in a hundred acre pasture with dozens of cows and calves that need to be moved or separated. The cow ladies do not always cooperate - BCP 122 seen below threatened to charge - intimidating her rider but not Rosie.
Her attitude was "MAKE MY DAY !" (in deference to the immortal Clint Eastwood) and the cow yielded. Come try Rosie and experience this for yourself! |

BC Warda (Rose) liver chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail.
She is a SE filly born 2/28/2005.
Rosie has become an incredible horse to ride. She was extensively trained in western pleasure and competed successfully shownby Mark Jamieson and her very amateur owner. With little training, she competed in hunter under saddle and is a natural in dressage.Taking a short time out, she was trained and run by my son Charlie in barrel racing, cones and poles. Then it was back to life on the farm, trail riding and working cows.

Rosie and Kaylee
|
Rosie just successfully completed the Be the Boss ride for Breast Cancer, and topped it off by giving three old Kaylee a ride around the round pen.
Kaylee astonished everyone by taking the reins and telling Rosie "go faster" and "don't hit the fence Rosie". Rosie is now working cattle regularly, helping move them from pasture to pasture and separating cows and calves. She can turn on a dime and will take on a 1200 lb cow or bull without blinking.
Her dam is HMT Morousa, a chestnut daughter of The Minstril
out of a daughter of The Egyptian Prince (*Morafic x *Bint Mona) and *Ibn Moniet
El Nefous daughter. Her grand sire is The Minstril. He is, without question,
the leading living Egyptian Sire, a true Living Legend.
Her sire, Curundu Ezra, is by Curundu Java, by Bahim Hisan
(see reference sires), out of a daughter of national champion *Asadd. Ezra
is out of Curundu Tzer, a daughter of Bahim Hisan out of Mokhtara Rose, the
only SE daughter of *El Mokhtar, who was the horse in the race scenes in the
movie The Black Stallion Returns.
