Even as a youngster Classic Shadwan was
well-known for his extraordinary type - now, as a mature stallion he is regarded
as one "the" progenitors of extreme type. Exotic like no other, he has a dry,
chiseled face with huge, dark expressive eyes and rich pigmentation. A well
set neck, perfect top line, high set tail (carried absolutely straight) and
airy movement complete the picture. A showy stallion, Classic Shadwan is very
elegant and looks like a picture book Arabian horse - for many admirers he
personifies the ideal of classical Arabian type! As a yearling he won at Pompadour/France
and as a two-year-old colt he was Junior Reserve Champion at the international
show at Wels/Austria. In 1997 he was awarded International Reserve Champion
Stallion at Kaub/Germany and Reserve Champion Stallion at the European Egyptian
Event. Last year he won the following titles: Classwiner at Wels, Champion & "Best
in Show" at the Egyptian Classic Show /Holland, Champion Stallion at the international
show at Kaub and Champion Stallion at the prestigious Platinum Cup. Classic
Shadwan's first foal crop in 1997 proved his dominance - his foals inherited
his own quality and exotic type as well as his pigmentation (he sired all types
of colour - even some black foals). His daughter Shadwanah is
a multi-champion filly (among other titles she won German Reserve National
Champion Filly and Champion Filly of the European Egyptian Event). His son
Mangalee Ibn Shadwan not only was successful at shows, he was awarded a gold
medal at Germany's annual stallion show. Another daughter, Sanaa Bint Shahlia,
was Most Classic Head and Reserve Champion Filly at the Egyptian Event. But
there are many other successful sons and daughters making the name of their
sire known in the wh ole world - like GR Amaretto (Junior Champion Colt at
the Egyptian Classic Show in Tilburg/Holland and Reserve Junior Champion Colt
of Germany; he was awarded a gold medal at the German Stallion Show at Aachen
2002), GR Shadow (exported to the United States), the black filly Jamala Al
Azhar (sold to England) or his promising young black son Maheeb (out
of KEN Bint Bint Mahiba by Ansata Halim Shah!). And with his daughter GR Amaretta,
who was Reserve Junior Champion Filly of Germany in 2002 his third offspring
won a German Reserve National Championship in a row!
PEDIGREE
Classic Shadwan's pedigree traces in several
lines to Morafic as well as to other sources of extreme type: His sire Alidaar
stems from the "golden cross" of Shaikh Al Badi x Bint Magidaa, thus making
him a full brother to Ruminaja Ali. Alidaar was imported to France and now
resides in Qatar. Alidaar - extreme of type, best conformation and a multi-champion
stallion! Classic Shadwan's dam is Shagia Bint Shadwan, imported from the El
Zahraa State stud at Cairo. A very exotic, dry and refined mare with exceptional
movement. Her sire Shadwan and dam Samar were siblings by Shaarawi (Morafic
x Bint Kamla). Shadwan's dam is the famous Kamar, one of the most typeful mares
of her time in Egypt. That's the reason why Classic Shadwan is a great progenitor
of classic type
